Venue Highlights
The Gateway Function Centre is operated by The Wests Group and is located in Mayfield just 5 klms from Newcastle CBD and 20 minutes from Newcastle Airport. We also operate Wests Convention Centre, which is located in New Lambton, about 10 minutes from Newcastle CBD and features accommodation at The Executive Inn.
Two function rooms Impressions and The Showroom are both located on the ground floor with direct access from our FREE multi-level car park. Car Parkign is for no charge at Wests Mayfield. Your guests will all be greeted at reception and walk through the foyer to either room.
Adjacent to Wests Mayfield is Balance Health Club - the Hunters finest Health Club. We also have sporting fields suitable for marquee's or sporting activities and The Glasshouse for casual meetings.
Location
The Gateway Function Centre is located on the corner of Industrial Drive and William Street Mayfield. We are the closest centre to the end of the F3 Freeway, 3 klms from Newcastle University and 5 klms from Newcastle CBD.
The centre has a proud history with associations with the foundation companies of OneSteel and Newcastle's BHP.
Location plays a huge factor as this centre is still one of the favourite locations for day conferences for many of the industrial companies and the perfect place for product demonstrations and small exhibitions.
Now complemented by outstanding accommodation facilities at The Gateway Inn, the site is perfect for corporate and sporting groups, exhibitions and multi day events.
Accommodation
The Gateway Inn, Newcastle is the newest landmark in Mayfield. Its location on the doorstep to Newcastle airport and the eco-friendly industrial zone called Steel River. The property features rooms, suites and apartments for longer stays.
Facilities are second to none and we provide is a unique combination of affordable luxury in a resort atmosphere. We pride ourselves on first class service and facilities.
Corporate rates are available for groups using the Wests Mayfield & Wests New Lambton sites.
Catering Information
Menus are available for breakfast, morning or afternoon teas, lunch and dinners. Meals can be served in the function rooms if you wish and we have a lovely private dining area with outside terrace available for group lunches to get them out of the room.
Recreational Facilities
Balance Health Club is part of The Wests Group Australia and is a $12 million facility incorporating the latest fitness equipment, fully qualified instructors, two state-of-the-art swimming pools, childminding facilities, a café and strategic health and fitness solutions.
Balance is a world-class facility designed to accelerate the people of the Hunter into new approaches to health and lifestyle and has already attracted more than 1000 members who are enjoying the cutting-edge health club.
Balance programs can be incorporated into your conference session if required.
Wests Mayfield also offers sporting fields for additional space or recreational activities as well as a FREE multi storey car park.
Technical Facilities
Impressions is a single floor room suitable for small meetings and seminars and offers broadband access, internal sound and lighting system and built in electronic screen and ceiling mounted dataprojector.
The Showroom has 9 metre stage, bio box, built in dataprojector and electronic 12metre screen. Large dance floor built in at the front of the room.
Standard equipment on site include Data Projector Unit, Electronic Whiteboard, Sound & Lighting Technician, Overhead Projector & Screen, Broadband Internet Access, Whiteboard & Markers, VHS Player & TV Monitor, Paper Flip Chart, Podium/Lectern/CD System or Microphone, Convention Pads & Pens.
Business Facilities
Wests Mayfield can provide photocopying, secretarial services like faxing and emailing. Bookings are essential.
Guests staying at The Gateway Inn can ask for general services such as same day laundry and dry cleaning, airport transfers, car hire and baby-sitting to ensure your stay is completely carefree.
