situated high on the point above south mission beach, set amidst the rainforest with breathtaking views of white, sandy beaches, lugger bay, dunk and bedarra islands.
the horizon has 55 rooms nestled amongst the rainforest, a swimming pool with a view to die for, tennis court, restaurant, cocktail bar, conference facilities and private dining rooms. the horizon is perfect for romantic getaways, conferences, weddings and relaxing.
our unique location allows us to create a tropical tree top feel as our rooms are all interlinked via an elevated timber boardwalk. all the rooms are nestled throughout the rainforest, with most having their own rainforest and ocean views from their
private balcony.

Location

we are located approximately half way between cairns and townsville (cairns ~ 1¾ hours, townsville ~ 2½ hours) at the centre of the tropical rainforest and the closest access point to the great barrier reef marine park. the area offers a wide range of tours, walks and activities designed to enhance your experience in paradise. whether
you wish to relax and take it easy or if adrenalin pumping activities are more your style, we’re waiting to show you the treasures and magic that our fabulous destination has to offer.

Catering Information

Picture this – it is dusk, you are seated on a deck beside a swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees and the faint flickering light of glowing torches. Relax and unwind and enjoy the international and local cuisine at The Ulysses Restaurant, at The Horizon at South Mission Beach. Open to the public, 7 days a week, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
In house catering is provided for all Conferences and functions and can be tailored to suit your delegates needs.

Recreational Facilities

Mission Beach has an extensive range of tours and activities in and around the immediate area, from Diving on The Great Barrier Reef to a rainforest walk that will leave you revived and refreshed. All tour companies offer transfers to and from the resort as part of their service, and The Horizon is also part of the local bus route.
Whilst there are many things to do in Mission Beach your guests will not feel pressured to do anything. Doing nothing is sometimes just as good!
