Venue Highlights

The Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) is a world-class facility that satisfies the requirements of national and international conventions, large scale public and trade exhibitions, corporate meetings and specialised events.

With a state-of-the-art convention centre with Australia’s largest exhibition space, the MECC is one of Australia’s most acclaimed centres.

Location

The MECC is conveniently located along the picturesque Yarra River, close to the central business district and a short stroll, tram or boat ride to 19,000 hotel rooms, restaurants, theatres and entertainment venues.

The superb location of the MECC means it is easily accessed by the city’s roadways and freeways. The MECC is serviced by six parking areas suitable for public, exhibitor and bus parking with additional parking available within walking distance of the MECC.

Catering Information

The MECC‘s commitment to excellence extends to food and beverage services, where a team of highly skilled chefs, led by Executive Chef Frank Burger, prepares and serves meals that reflect the Centre’s overall reputation for excellence.

So if you are holding a meeting for 30 people or a gala dinner for 3,000 people, the MECC can help you to create the right menu to suit your needs.

Technical Facilities

The MECC offers the best in sound, video and staging technology, as well as the latest in telecommunications. A recent upgrade of the MECC’s communications and networking infrastructure ensures internet access, webcasting and video conferencing facilities are user friendly and extremely fast.

Due to its superior technical qualities, the Melbourne Convention Centre has been confirmed as the media broadcast centre for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
